ISKA Membership Information

The Irish Steiner Kindergarten Association is the representative body of Steiner Early
Childhood Carers & Educators in Ireland and was founded in 1992.
Aims
- to promote and support the development of Steiner Early Childhood Care & Education in Ireland
- to act as an effective representative body for professionals working in
Steiner Early Childhood Care and Education
- to support and promote the provision of sessional, full daycare and
other childcare and family support services of the highest quality as
an integral part of a continuum of community care for children
- to establish and develop a range of training programs for professional Early Years practitioners
- to provide professional in-service training programs for members
- to work in collaboration with other organizations and agencies to
promote high quality, affordable childcare services in the community
The ISKA Advisory Service offers
support and mentoring to members as well as a
Quality Assurance Process, "Sensing Quality," for Steiner Kindergartens/Initiatives.
ISKA maintain a Website, www.steinerireland.org, giving details of Irish Steiner
Kindergartens/Early Years initiatives, adverts for vacant positions, links to other Irish and
International Early Years organizations, access to articles, talks and workshop information and lots more.
ISKA also offer
comprehensive Workshop and Talks programmes
run in partnership with individuals/groups and with reduced rates for members.
ISKA has an annual Conference which offers a valuable opportunity for ongoing training
and for members to meet, learn from and support each other.
ISKA offers a subscription service
to Kindling Early Years Journal, published
in the UK. It is published twice a year in Spring and Autumn and is a treasure trove
of information and ideas.
ISKA sends a representative to meetings of the International Association of Steiner Waldorf
Early Childhood Educators and support the crucial international work of IASWECE through
an annual donation, made up of donations from the Irish Kindergartens.
Current Cost of Membership is - Full, €30pa and Associate, €15pa.
